Mottanai is a Japanese expression translated roughly as Too Good to Waste. This piece is made from a recycled vintage kimono and naturally dyed japanese kaya hemp mosquito netting. Free form collage including printed and hand written Japanese paper. Quilted to resemble a raked zen garden. Hand stitched mending highlighted to affirm the attention to the concept of Mottanai.
