Breath of Time

As we age, experiencing some form of cancer is highly likely. But when I found myself diagnosed with breast cancer, the life I knew fell apart into tiny little pieces. It takes courage and perseverance to piece it back together. This poem expresses the full range of my emotions during challenging times.

Untitled – by Jean Yoder
A poet writing, rewriting!
Sweeping up life’s energies;
Recording the breath of time.
A poet steeped in language.
Which language?
It makes no difference.
Words and images flow
From the artist into the world.
Can I see, hear, taste or touch?
Everything moves;
Nothing is the same.
