I used cotton fabrics in a combination of batiks and printed patterns. Batting and finishing fabrics are also cotton. The sky is machine pieced and the cranes are raw-edge fused. I free-motion quilted with a tight stitch for emphasis to outline the cranes and feathers, and a looser stitch for the background to give a sense of light air currents in the sunset.
