This piece is about a memory of a homeland. The memory might shift and distill into the feeling of the wind, the quality of the light, and vividly recalled colors of the textiles. The sky is filled with echoes of prayers, hopes, dreams, and wishes that collectively rise and fill the sky.

Materials: Hand painted and dyed cotton fabric. Beads, buttons, sequins, crystals, and carved bone and mother of pearl. Silk, rayon, cotton, and metallic fabric. Recycled silk sari ribbon and trim. Embroidered buttons. Cotton batting and backing.

Techniques: Hand painted fabric. Hand beaded and embellished. Folded and manipulated fabric. Machine and hand embroidered. Couched yarn.
