Match Sticks

Match Sticks is part of my “Sticks” series, in which I challenged myself to show different ways of combining stripes and backgrounds so that the stripes (sticks) move into and out of the background. After completing eight pieces using the entire quilt as the image, I decided to transform the image into small, improvisationally- pieced “squares.” I further challenged myself to work in predominantly neutral colors.
