Death Shroud for Democracy

Referencing the Shroud of Turin, and thus the death of an important ideal, the figure here is Uncle Sam. The disassembled U.S. flag is a metaphor for Congress disassembling democracy. Layers of embroidered words refer to people, ideas, and actions that tear at its very fabric.

This piece expresses my frustration and disappointment with American politics, particularly since 2010.
