Each piece represents water. In "Fountain", water is fluid and reflective of warm surrounding colors with energy and movement in the sparkling little geyser interrupting the liquid surface. In "Frost", water is solid, with sharp crystalline reflections. Hoarfrost is fused to lake ice so clear one can see darkness below. 30 x 39 Raw-edged applique fused onto Swedish tracing paper creates the top with cotton batting and backing. Facing provides a borderless finish. Cotton fabrics, predominately hand-dyed, Pellon 805 fusible web, Swedish tracing paper, cotton batting and backing, quilted with poly-cotton thread. |
