My work examines the relationship between the individual and society. A special concern is displacement: people dispersed and how they respond to change of place and culture. I explore inclusion and exclusion; the concepts of resident, native & non-native, migrant, refugee, expat, exile…. In Ellipsis, stones moved from place to place by stream currents and the empty places their displacement leave behind become metaphors for the presence and absence of migration. |
