Meet Your Representative  Jean Renli Jurgenson

I grew up on a farm in South Dakota and I now live in the San Francisco Bay Area – the best of both worlds. Thirty five years ago I began quilting and soon it became an artistic journey. I have always been inspired by the details of ordinary things – a beautiful curve, an unusual perspective, the color of sunlight after a rain storm. Being aware of that minutia fills me and makes me want to create. At this point in my artistic life, I find myself drawn to architectural details – the lines and angles that create an interesting perspective or the graceful curve of a hard structure that seems both incongruous and moving. Often, as I am working on an architectural piece, I begin to think of the people who inhabit or are touched by those structures. Those thoughts often inform my design decisions. Reflection – World Trade Center was part of SAQA’s 25th Anniversary Exhibition, Celebrating Silver.
