Artist Information for Judy Langille
I have always been drawn to fabric and have used it as my palette for inspiration. My work is based on compositions that emerge from the handmade fabrics I create. The emphasis is always on strong composition and reflects the spontaneous, improvisational manner in which they were created. Collaging, machine stitching and hand stitching are used to put my compositions together. Some of the work is created from a single piece of printed fabric. The final layer is either hand stitched, knotted or machine stitched.
